Monash Doctors Surgery has developed into a truly multicultural Family General Practice offering both male and female doctors with extensive cultural and linguistic diversity. Some of the languages spoken by our doctors include Tamil, Italian and Egyptian.
Dr Tony Lucarelli
MBBS (Hons) FRACGP
Dr Lucarelli has over 26 years experience in General Medicine. He was educated at Monash University and founded Monash Doctors Surgery in 1995 where he has worked full time with a team of experienced and caring doctors including Dr Shyamala Thurairajah, Dr Heather Crockart and Dr Nadia Sidrak.
Dr Lucarelli’s special interests include Preventative health checks, Diabetes, Men’s Health, Paediatrics and Travel Medicine. He speaks fluent Italian. Dr Lucarelli is also a member of the teaching staff at Monash University where he tutors medical students in the Faculty of medicine.
Dr Shyamala Thurairajah
Dr Rajah works 6 days a week, including 1 in 3 Saturday mornings and 1 in 2 Sunday mornings. Dr Rajah has worked at Monash Doctors Surgery since it’s inception in 1995. A very experienced Medical practitioner.
Dr Farinaz Mehtari
Dr Farinaz Mehtari completed her Medical Degree in 2005 in Tehran, Iran. She moved to Australia in 2010 to study and work. She is an experienced General Practitioner with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital and health care industry both in Iran and Australia, in rural and metropolitan areas. She is also skilled in clinical research, medical education and emergency medicine.
She has been a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) since 2015.
She speaks Farsi in addition to English.
Dr Farinaz has a special interest in Women, Young Adults, Children’s Health, Skin Disease, Cosmetic Work (Antiwrinkle Injections) and Travel Advice. She also performs minor procedures, including insertion and removal of Implanon and Skin Biopsies as well as Chronic Disease Management.
She enjoys swimming, jogging and interior design in her free time.
